Who We Are
The Allen family have been involved in breeding quality red brahmans for 40 years.
Kariboe Valley was established in 1998 and is owned and operated by Mark & Tarsh Allen.
Mark has been involved in the cattle industry his entire life. After completing two years at Longreach pastoral college completing a certificate in Animal Husbandry, Mark worked on various cattle stations gaining invaluable experience, before returning home to the family operation in St George. Operations then moved to the higher rainfall region of Miriam Vale to focus more on the growth of their Red Brahman commercial herd. After the retirement of Gordon (Mark’s father) the business was moved to the fertile country of the Callide Valley, where Mark began by registering the Kariboe Valley stud in 1998. Mark is a perfectionist with the cattle. He completes the pregnancy testing and AI programs on the property, also ensuring that only best quality & functional animals are kept in herd. The cattle are always handled quietly and in line with high animal welfare standards.
Tarsh also grew up on a cattle property in central NSW, loving working alongside her family when mustering and cattle work was required. After completing her teaching degree in Sydney she moved to central Qld. She soon met Mark and they were married in 1999. Tarsh is happiest in the yards working with Mark assisting in AI and IVF programs and is also the business bookkeeper.
Tarsh and Mark have raised four amazing children who continue to help in the business. Mac & Darcie have left home but continue to return and be involved in day-to-day operations when they are available. Bailey and Will help with the ongoing mustering and yard work.
