Kariboe Valley stud herd
The stud herd of comprises of approximately 100 females. There is a strong emphasis on females to be fertile and over many years we have worked tirelessly to cull any underperforming females. The female herd must be structurally sound with good udders and impeccable temperament. A calf every year is a must.
KARIBOE SIRES
Current market drivers have led to the ongoing purchasing of polled genetics in our Sires. Bulls are selected on temperament, structural correctness and tidy underlines. Current sires in use at Kariboe Valley include Samari Plains Benji(PP), Kariboe Valley Ubobo(P) and Nioka Touche(P) as well as our artificial breeding programs
Kariboe breeding program
We currently run at least one IVF program per season and an ongoing AI program. We believe this is an integral part of the beef breeding future. By using superior genetics we aim to strengthen our herd and make rapid, effective gains.
